President John F. Kennedy and his wife First Lady Jackie Kennedy arriving in Dallas on November 22, 1963. Later that day, he was shot and killed. The first shot went wide, but made the chauffeur miss his turn. He backed up to turn correctly, giving the shooter another chance. The second time, the bullet hit JFK, who died of his wounds. Because of JFK’s assassination, presidents never ride in open-top vehicles.
