The Angle, Saxon, and Jute tribes invaded Britain in the 5th and 6th centuries CE to create the first truly English kingdoms. They traveled across the North Sea from their homelands in Germany, Denmark, and northern Holland, loooking for loot and more land. Before that, the British Islands were ruled by the Celts, and some British descendents who bravely remained.
