Splinter Foot Girl

The Arapaho have a legend that goes like this: one day, a man was hunting with his brothers.  His foot gets stuck with a thorn, and began to swell so much he could not longer hunt.  Finally, it burst open, and he gave birth to a girl child. She was raised among the men, and they loved her very much, and named her Splinter Foot Girl after how she was born.
